BRYAN LI / 李旻臻

Bryan Li is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance at Manhattan School of Music in the studio of Samuel Rhodes. His other principal teachers include Felix Ungar and Carol Rodland. Bryan is a proud recipient of The First Initiative Hong Kong/China Scholarship. 

Bryan was born in 2002 in Hong Kong. He started studying viola at the age of 14 under the tutelage of Dr. Felix Ungar. In 2018, he attended the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades, France, where he studied with Prof. Hartmut Rohde. He took part in the 45th International Viola Congress in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where he performed in a public masterclass with Nobuko Imai. In 2019, he attended the Perlman Music Program, where he studied and performed alongside Itzhak Perlman and other faculty members. He was invited to record with principal players from the Hong Kong Philharmonic, where they played Mozart’s “Kegelstatt” trio. Bryan also participated in masterclasses with artists such as Richard O’Neill, Susan Dubois, and Lynne Ramsey.

His prizes include First Prize in the Viola Senior Class of the 70th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. He previously acted as principal viola of the Diocesan Boys’ School Symphony Orchestra, which toured Europe in 2019 and performed in the Musikverein Wien. He also toured with the orchestra to the United States, where they performed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Bryan出生於香港,在十四歲時隨Dr. Felix Ungar開始學習中提琴。在二零一八年,他在第七十屆香港校際音樂節的中提琴(高級組)比賽中,獲得了第一名。在二零一八年八月,他參加了位於法國的Pablo Casals音樂節,並隨Prof. Hartmut Rohde學習。他亦在普拉德斯的聖皮埃爾教堂表演室樂。他曾參與位於荷蘭的第四十五屆國際中提琴大會,並在中提琴手今井信子的公開大師班中演出。在二零一九年,他參與了Perlman Music Program,獲得機會與著名小提琴家Itzhak Perlman及其他教授合作演出。在二零二一年,他與香港管弦樂團的成員進行錄音製作。

Bryan現正就讀曼克頓音樂學院,與Samuel Rhodes學習中提琴。他深信音樂是人與人之間最直接的溝通方式,並希望藉着音樂與聽眾及其他樂手分享對美學的追求。
