JEREMY CHAN /

Jeremy is a pianist based in London. He is currently studying for a Masters in piano performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Noriko Ogawa and Laura Roberts, kindly supported by the Guildhall School and Kathleen Trust. Prior to this, Jeremy obtained an undergraduate degree in English Literature at Durham University, taking piano lessons on the side with David Murray.

Jeremy has been playing the piano since he was six and has studied in prestigious institutions such as the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts and the Royal Academy of Music. He obtained his Licentiate Diploma in Piano Performance in 2014. He has since participated in numerous competitions, local and international, such as the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in Switzerland and the Chopin-Asia Piano Competition in Japan. He was the winner of the West Sussex Youth Music Award and the Music Durham Soloist Award.

Jeremy is also an avid chamber musician, playing in a piano quintet as well as forming a duo with violinist Leona Gogolicynová.

Through participating in collectives as well as performing solo, Jeremy hopes to merge his two great passions—music and literature—together to create new ways of presenting classical music.

Outside of music, Jeremy very much enjoys reading, writing and travelling. He writes regularly on his blog www.literallylefthanded.com.
