MATTHEW KO / 古靖軒

Matthew Ko is a grade nine student studying in Diocesan Boys’ School. He started learning the piano at the age of four and is currently studying under Mr. Chan Sze-Yau at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. At the age of five, Matthew began learning the violin and is currently studying under Dr. Kitty Cheung.

Matthew is a member of the Symphony Orchestra and Senior Strings in DBS and toured Budapest, Vienna and Prague in 2019, performing with the orchestra in the Vigado Concert Hall, Musikverein and the Smetana Hall. 

Matthew has won championships in both Violin Solo Classes and Piano Solo Classes in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. As a keen ensemble player, he has also won in Violin Duet Classes and Piano Duet Classes. Having received the ATCL diploma in Violin Performance, Matthew has recently received the LTCL diploma in Piano Performance with distinction.

Currently exploring different music genres, Matthew hopes to further his music study and become a mature musician in the future through various performing opportunities.

Matthew就讀於拔萃男書院，自四歲起學習鋼琴，現於香港演藝學院師隨陳思佑；並於五歲時始學小提琴，現隨張文蕊博士習琴。Matthew以優異成績考獲倫敦聖三一學院鋼琴演奏專業文憑及小提琴演奏初級文憑。Matthew是校內管弦樂團及弦樂團的成員，並曾隨團到布達佩斯、維也納及布拉格等地演出。他亦曾於校際音樂節中小提琴獨奏、鋼琴獨奏、小提琴二重奏及鋼琴二重奏的項目奪冠。Matthew盼望通過不同演出經驗，鑽研自己的技藝，於未來成為一名成熟的音樂人。
