MICHELLE CHEUNG / 蔣芷攸

Interviewed by South China Morning Post Young Post and Radio Television Hong Kong Radio 2 - Michelle (19) currently studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with John Evans under the Margaret Easton Scholarship.

Graduated from Wells Cathedral School UK, Michelle was a vocal specialist and the Music Captain of the school. She was chosen to be the soprano soloist of "Rejoice Greatly, O Daughter of Zion” and the Haydn Nelson Mass. Over the years, Michelle has won multiple local and international competitions, including the Best Female Soloist in the 4th Florence International Choir Festival 2015 and First Prize in the Golden Gate International Choral Festival Children’s Vocal Solo Competition 2018. Michelle has also been the main cast for 4 musical productions. Other than singing, Michelle has plentiful experiences in administrative and managerial works, she was the leader for multiple ensembles and chair-lady of both the College Choir and Music Society at St Stephen’s College HK.

Michelle has received offers with a scholarship from 5 conservatoires in the UK including Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Michelle aspires to break through the innate language barrier by performing pieces with precise control of mood and atmosphere to convey messages and essences of music to audiences. More importantly, Michelle hopes to enliven the messages of pieces and cultivate classical music appreciation in the community, meet passionate and enthusiastic musicians internationally, and learn to respect and appreciate other cultures and art forms.

Michelle是一名女高音,曾接受南華早報青年郵報和香港電台第二台專訪,現於英國市政廳音樂及戲劇學院主修聲樂並獲頒授獎學金,師隨Prof. John Evans。她曾贏得多項本地及國際獎項,足跡遍及意大利及美國。Michelle渴望成為一名專業歌唱家,在舞台上向更多人分享音樂。她相信音樂不受語言所限,故接觸不同語言的曲目,希望藉由歌曲情感的演繹,向觀眾傳達曲目背後的意義。
