ZAC LEUNG / 梁銘熙

Born and raised in Hong Kong, pianist Zac Leung is known for his versatility as a soloist, collaborator, and an artistic director. Formerly studied with Rachel Cheung, he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where he studies with Emile Naoumoff. Leung was the winner at Budapest Liszt Ferenc Piano Competition and Princeton Festival’s Piano Competition. He was also awarded Second Prize at the International Fringe Music Festival’s Open Competition and International Amadeus Online Piano Competition.

Praised for his sensitivity, Leung is active in collaborative performances and has worked extensively with instrumentalists and vocalists. He has been coached by renowned musicians and pedagogues, among them Dale Clevenger, Kevin Cobb, Charles Prestinari, Sung-Mi Im, Dr. Chih-Yi Chen, and Dr. Yoonie Han. Having studied cello, voice, and conducting previously, Leung is passionate about music across different genres. He is a founding member of Solaris Quintet, a piano quintet based in Jacobs School of Music. His experience as a chorister and pianist at his secondary school choirs and now at award-winning contemporary vocal ensemble NOTUS has also brought him to choral festivals such as the China International Chorus Festival, International Choral Kathaumixw, and the ACDA Midwestern Regional Conference. Committed to bringing contemporary repertoire to the classical music scene, Leung co-founded SoundZpace HK where he curates music programs that bring classical and contemporary music together. 

Zac於香港土生土長,四歲開始學習鋼琴,曾師隨鋼琴家張緯晴,現憑獎學金負笈美國印地安那大學雅各斯音樂學院,隨Emile Naoumoff習琴。Zac同時熱衷於鋼琴獨奏及室樂合奏,他在本地及國際獨奏比賽中均屢獲佳績,他亦常獲邀與不同音樂人合作演出。Zac現為太陽五重奏的成員,並為當代音樂合唱團NOTUS的鋼琴手。
